Howdy!
I’m a designer from
Mersin, Turkey
 — currently moving pixels at YouTube in San Francisco, CA.

  Most recently, I’ve been reimagining the future of Live TV at YouTube TV — designing on web,
mobile
 and TV. My design focus consists of interaction design, system & visual design. I studied Graphic Design at MICA so my past work involves
print collaterals,
branding, typography,
3D,
 and motion design. 

  I love experimenting and learning professionally and in my personal life. In my free time, I like exploring the city with
my dog charlie,
 going to concerts or picnics with friends, picking up a new hobby like dj’ing, woodworking,
nail art,
 or relaxing in my room and staring at my plants.

I’ve been working with Juliette Wang for the past year to rebrand and recreate a story for Here* 
— a platform that enables people to intentionally reflect, connect and share their experiences through a list of their favorite spots of a city.

Overview
Here* was co-created by Juliette a few years ago. Juliette and her co-founder had done extensive work strategizing and creating the initial product (big milestones, core features, mvp prototypes, business & strategy)
However, the product needed a major rebrand to better reflect its mission and target users. Seeking more visual design work, I joined Juliette to revamp the brand, realign product goals, and create a cohesive story and visual elements for the product and marketing materials. 


















The challengeRefine our mission and develop a robust brand identity that seamlessly integrates across the landing page, app, and all marketing materials. 
























The inspiration 
I started by sourcing inspiration and proposing various strategic directions for the brand's evolution, exploring both organic and structured approaches. Ultimately, we met in the middle, drawing our primary inspiration from DJ and event posters known for their experimental, community-focused designs with layered imagery and striking typography.































We wanted our brand to be a friendly, energetic, trustworthy 
Some other key words I kept in mind while creating the brand were; 
welcoming, community, lively, personalized, friendly, underground, organic, breaking the grid, layered, complex, reminiscence, youthful

















Brainstorm
The asterisk was used acrossed the whole brand when Here* was first created. It represents  ??????????????????????
Wireframes To complement the new asterisk, I made small tweaks to the logo like adding matching slants on the h & e’s as the asterisk. We moved away from the sentence case for a more casual, friendly logo. 










Prototype
Our brand color, neon yellow is modern, bold, energetic and gets inspiration from highlighting meaningful information. Our secondary brand color, blue grounds our brand to make it reliable & trustworthy.

I incorporated stickers on our brand to bring a more human touch and give the feeling of collecting and making memories. The stickers aren’t only for decoration, some also have functionalities. eg. guidance arrow, location pin, numbers, buttons



























Expanding the brand
My design elements were used while Juliette was designing our landing page and the additional pages in the site, which was later on built by our engineer Remy.
